Doha, December 15 (RHC-PL) --Hamad Medical Corporation (CMH), manager of the Cuban Hospital in Dukhan, has opened a hostel for the recovery of patients in that hospital, considered a reference of health services in Qatar.

CMH manager director, Hanan Al Kuwari, was responsible for the opening of the hostel which will accommodate patients who received treatment and did not require acute medical surgery, but needed continuity of care and a period of rehabilitation before being discharged.

According to Al Kuwari, the new facility was built as part of the infrastructure existing on the campus of Cuban Hospital in Dukhan and the recovery of a housing block for medical and paramedical staff.

Patients admitted in the 16-bed hostel need time for their complete recovery to return to their usual routines, and according to experts' estimates, a typical stay should last two to three weeks.

As a rule, those to benefit from the services of the hostel will be patients who live and work in the area and often attend the hospital where the Cuban doctors and other health professionals are working, mainly in the western and northern regions of Qatar.

The official news agency QNA said the new hostel will also allow the hospital to vacate beds for other patients in acute situations who require medical treatment with hospitalization.

This opening followed the another opening in September of the Bayt Al Dhiyafah, a facility of the Hamad bin Khalifa Medical City that presented a new model of care for CMH specializing in rejuvenation and natural medicine.
