Washington, March 8 (RHC)-- Student protests against gun violence continued on Wednesday after a school shooting that left 17 dead in Florida several weeks ago.
Students held a sit in outside Senate Majority Leader Mitch Mcconnell's Office in Washington, D.C. The students from Virginia, Maryland and Washington D.C. chanted "Not one more" and were critical of the NRA (the National Rifle Association), local media reported.
U.S. Capitol Police Spokeswoman Eva Malecki said arrests were made on crowding and obstruction charges. "The US Capitol Police arrested eight individuals for unlawfully demonstrating in the Russell Senate Office Building," she said.
Meanwhile, in St. Paul, Minnesota, scores of students walked out of school and marched on the state capitol building to demand a crackdown against gun violence, the Star Tribune reported.
