Addis Ababa, January 28 (RHC)-- The governments of Ethiopia and Cuba have agreed to further boost their long-standing bilateral relations.
Diplomatic sources in Ethiopia say during a meeting on Friday, Prime Minister Hailemariam Desalegn and the visiting Vice President of Cuba Salvador Valdes Mesa reviewed bilateral issues and advocated for an enhancing of the ties between the two countries, with focus on cooperation in the area of science and technology. Experience sharing and assistance from the Cuban side for the development of science and technology in Ethiopia were discussed.
The two sides have also addressed ways of further improving transfer of knowledge and technology in the health sector.
Following the discussion, Vice President Valdes Mesa told reporters that Cuba was willing to consolidate the existing ties with Ethiopia. The two countries have enjoyed long years of mutual cooperation, particularly in the areas of education and healthcare.
