Havana, February 7 (RHC)-- Cuban Vice President Ricardo Cabrisas met Monday in Havana with Slovakian Minister of Finances Peter Kažimír and the country's Health Minister Tomáš Drucker, who are making an official visit to Cuba.
The two Slovakian officials are leading a broad delegation of government representatives and professionals from both sectors, looking to strengthen cooperation and trade relations with Cuba.
During the exchange, Cabrisas, who is also Cuba's Minister of Economy and Planning, thanked the Slovakian government and its ambassador in Havana for the signing in 2016 of an important bilateral debt restructuring agreement.
He also praised the role played by Slovakia during its six-month rotating presidency of the European Union in achieving a Political Dialogue and Cooperation Agreement between Cuba and the European bloc.
The Slovakian officials pointed to what they described as a growing interest on the part of Slovakian entrepreneurs in investing in Cuba, particularly the financial incentives offered by the Slovakian firm EXIMBANKA to companies from the European nation that engage in business with Cuban enterprises.
At the end of the meeting, a number of agreements were signed related to the energy and health care sectors, reaffirming the interest of the two sides in further developing ties.
