Young Cuban will perform at dance event in Switzerland
Havana, Feb 3 (RHC) Young Cuban dancer Rolando Manuel Diéguez, a second-year student at the Acosta Danza Academy, is in Switzerland to compete in the Prix de Lausanne, a prestigious competition for ballet students held annually between February 2 and 9.
According to the Facebook page of the Acosta Dance Academy, created and led by the renowned Cuban dancer Carlos Acosta, Diéguez will be a part of the Choreographic Project.
The project invites the schools affiliated with the Prix to send their top students to make up a temporary company and collaborate on creating a performance for the public in Lausanne.
This year's production will feature 26 students, with renowned American choreographer Jessica Lang leading the way and supported by choreographer Kanji Segawa.
On three previous occasions, students from the Acosta Dance Academy have performed at this international competition in Switzerland, showcasing the technique passed down by Acosta. (Source: Prensa Latina)
