Havana, July 6 (RHC)-- The tune ‘Bombas o médicos’, which Argentinian rapper Daniel De Vita dedicated to Cuban health professionals fighting Covid-19 around the world has garnered over one million views on YouTube within just a few months of his release on social networks.
With musical production by Renzo Pelozo, the music video includes footage of the iconic speech given by Revolution leader Fidel Castro on May 25th, 2003 in Buenos Aires, when he categorically said that Cuba would never drop bombs to kill people anywhere in the world, but rather would send doctors, wherever their services were required to save lives. It also includes images of thousands of health professionals, members of Cuba’s Henry Reeve International Medical Brigade departing for other nations or arriving back in Cuba, after fulfilling missions abroad.
In the song, De Vita underscores the profound love and the strong solidarity principle guiding the work of Cuban health professional, as opposed to the wars launched by the United States all over the world.
In statements to Prensa Latina news agency, the Argentinian rapper said the tune pays tribute to the Cuban health professionals, and to leader Fidel Castro --one of the most influential world leaders of all time. He further said that ‘Bombas o médicos’ is his response to those who try to discredit Cuban medicine and the excellent work being done by the Cuban doctors. I speak for millions around the world, all those whose lives were saved or whose health was improved tanks to Cuban medicine.
