Havana, July 14 (RHC)-- The Association of Writers of the Association of Artists and Writers (UNEAC) has called on its members to stay alert against the slander, disinformation campaign unleashed by Cuba enemies in the main stream media and social networks.

It also urges them to close ranks around the Revolution and its leaders and repeal the attacks, by dismantling the campaign and spreading the truth in and outside the country about Cuba’s reality.

The Association of writers of UNEAC points to the validity today of the words spoken by leader Fidel Castro 60 years ago, his iconic speech ‘Palabras a los Intelectuales’ or ‘Words to Intellectuals.’ The US government and its mercenaries think that the end of Socialist Cuba is near, but their imperialist appetite will again crush against the proven capacity of the Cuban people to resist and overcome,’ UNEAC said. 

The association of Cuban writers recognizes the economic hardships, exacerbated by the more than 240 measures adopted by the Trump Administration to further tighten the blockade policy amidst Covid-19 and strangle the Cuban economy towards generating chaos and the long sought-after destruction of the Cuban Revolution. ‘The solution to our problems can never be the so-called ‘humanitarian intervention’, which could only lead to foreign military intervention in our nation,’ said UNEAC.
