Havana, Oct. 9 (RHC)-- Cuba's Record and Musical Edition Company (EGREM) has released a new version of the tune ‘Canción de Junio para Cantar en Octubre’ in homage to legendary Argentinian-Cuban Guerrilla Commander Ernesto Guevara de la Serna ‘Che’, on the 54th anniversary this October 8th of his capture and subsequent assassination in Bolivia.
EGREM said in a statement that the new version was arranged and produced by tres guitar player Pancho Amat. It features various Cuban musicians, who dedicate the tune also to Cuban health professionals, who are on the frontline on the island and around the world fighting Covid-19.
Featured artists include singer-songwriters Enrique 'Kiki' Corona, David Alvarez, Eduardo Sosa, Yaima Saez, and singer Rosa Moret, violinist Irving Frontela, percussionist Tomas Ramos 'El Panga,' trumpet player Antonio Diaz, guitarist Angel Lorenzo Ramos, bassist Jose Francisco Amat, and maracas player Jorge Luis Reyes.
Egrem said the release is as part of activities leading up to October 20th –Cuban Culture Day.
The tune is now available on the platform of Cuban music Sandunga. An accompanying music video will be released on October 20th on the YouTube channel of EGREM.
