Album 'Canta tus derechos'
The album ‘Canta tus derechos’, a co-production of the Cuban record and musical editions Company (EGREM) and Cubavisión channel of Cuban television was officially presented in the framework of activities on a new birthday anniversary of Cuban National Hero José Martí.
The new musical production includes the winning works of a music competition, carried out in 2018, with sponsorship from the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) and the Cuban Institute of Radio and Television (ICRT) on occasion of the 30th anniversary of the Convention on the Rights of the Child.
In statements to Cuban press, musicologist Elsida González said the album includes 12 tracks, written by young contestants themselves, between the ages of 12 and 18, who resort to different music genres and styles to reflect the rights of every child and adolescent.
Maestra Maylan Ávila, director of Solfa Children’s Choir and producer of ‘Canta tus derechos’, explained that besides the winning soloists of the music competition, the album includes also collaborations by Solfa Choir, the project Voces, directed by maestra Vivían Montanés, as well as musicians with the band Havana D Primera, trumpet player Yasek Manzano and pianist Tony Rodríguez, among others.
The album ‘Canta tus derechos’ is available of the music stores run by EGREM, as well as on the platform of Cuban music Sandunga of Artex.
