Havana, September 14 (RHC) -- The Cuban Art Building of the Museum of Fine Arts, in Havana, inaugurated Thursday the exhibition "Outsider", by artist Fidel Garcia, typical of his innovative exploration of Big Data and Hacking as artistic tools.
The Temporary Hall on the second level of the prestigious Havana gallery was open to the exhibition of this creator, who is known for his research and creativity around technologies and megadata.
According to critics, Garcia proves to be one of the most influential conceptual creators of the first half of the 21st century and this exhibition aims at closing the historiographic gap and contributing to the understanding and dissemination of new media in Cuba.
According to "Outsider" curator Milton Raggi Vinueza, Garcia's work represents a valuable voice in the global conversation on art and technology.
The exhibition comprises a wide selection of works spanning a period of more than 15 years of work, specifically from 2005 to 2023, grouped in six exploratory stages, with themes such as territorial control, the analysis of information flows and the relationship between the individual and the collective.
García is a conceptual, multidisciplinary artist and since his beginnings as a professional he has shunned the traditional resources used in art.
This artist is a graduate of the Academia Nacional de Bellas Artes San Alejandro and the Instituto Superior de Arte, and for the last twenty years has exhibited his work in Asian and European countries.
