Fernanda, Cuba's child detective, competes in film festival
Havana, December 15 (RHC)-- Fernanda, Cuba's well-known child detective, Fernanda, arrives at Havana's La Rampa cinema starring in a film in the Animated competition of the 44th International Festival of New Latin American Cinema.
The film "Fernanda y el extraño caso del mensaje a Figueroa", directed by Mario Rivas and produced by Estudios de Animación Icaic, Audiovisuales Icaic, was screened as part of the festival.
The synopsis tells that the girl detective and her friends visit a museum to see an exhibition on the Ten Years' War in Cuba.
There she learns of the loss of an important document; with the appearance of a new character, Fernanda becomes suspicious and begins an investigation in order to find out who he really is.
To do so, she plans a trip to the past, where she manages to discover what happened with this mysterious character and the lost message.
Among the voices that animate the characters are Irela Bravo, Teresita Rúa, Maikel Chávez, Carlos Cabal, Ana Nora Calaza, Rigoberto Ferrera, Lesvy Samper and Marah Góngora.
In this 44th edition of the Festival, 21 animated works are competing, of which 16 are short films and five feature films.
There are titles from Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Cuba, Spain, Mexico and Brazil, the latter being the most represented country with 10 productions. (Source: Prensa Latina)
