The book Raúl Castro, a Man in Revolution, by Nikoklai Leonov was launched at Havana’s 25th International Book Fair over the weekend.

On hand at the presentation was the aide to the President of the Cuban Council of State, Abel Prieto, who described the volume as revealing.

At the Nicolás Guillén Hall of the San Carlos de la Cabaña Fortress, the Cuban intellectual said that the book is not only the biography of a combatant, a revolutionary and an exceptional leader, but also the testimony of important events in the history of Cuba, adding that the assessments of the Soviet leadership on Latin America and Cuba on different historical moments add value to the work.

Published by the Capitán San Luis House, Raúl Castro, a Man in Revolution talks about the Cuban President’s personality, ethical and political formation and his close links with the family the Cuban leader created with his late wife, Vilma Espín.For his part, Nikolai Leonov, remembered the times when in 1953 he met the then young student leader on a boat bound for Latin America, which marked the beginning of friendly links that last until today. On hand at the launch were Russian ambassador, Mikhail Kaminin; Cuban Culture Minister, Julián González, and Cuban Book Institute President, Zuleica Romay.
