Haarlem Baseball Week
Havana, July 11 (ACN)-- The Cuban team Alazanes de Granma is looking for its first victory in the Haarlem Baseball Week tournament in Haarlem, Netherlands, this Monday against the United States, after suffering two defeats in its first outings.
Cuba's champion team suffered its second setback in the tournament on Sunday after losing 3-4 to Japan on the third day of the tournament.
In their first outing, Carlos Marti's pupils had lost 1-5 to the host Netherlands.
Riku Kumukuchi was the winner of the game, while reliever Pavel Hernández took the loss.
This Monday the Cuban team will play against the United States, on Tuesday against Curacao, and on Wednesday against Italy, in the closing of the preliminaries in the round-robin system.
Japan leads the standings with three wins and no losses, followed by the Netherlands (2-1), the United States (1-1), Curacao (1-1), Cuba (0-2) and Italy (0-2).
