Through his Twitter account, the president sent hugs to the whole team and stressed that "the times of triumph have returned for men's volleyball in an impressive way. Thank you for this joy that will inspire new victories".
On the same platform, the Cuban embassy in Canada sent its congratulations to the entire delegation for their excellent performance on the field.
The team from the largest of the Antilles went through the entire event without losing a set and overcame teams from the Dominican Republic, Chile (twice) and the United States, which took third place.
With this victory, the men's team secured its qualification for the 2023 Pan American Games in Santiago, reported the JIT website, an official publication of the Cuban Sports Institute.
