Havana, September 6 (RHC)-- Brazil will seek today its pass to the quarterfinals of the men's volleyball World Championship of Poland and Slovenia 2022, when it faces Iran.
The South Americans won the preliminary group B undefeated, with victories against Cuba in five sets and against Qatar and Japan in three sets.
In the other match of the day, Argentina, third of the F key, will face Serbia, first of section A.
Ukraine surprisingly qualified for the quarterfinals on Monday with a 3-0 win over the Netherlands in Ljubljana.
The team coached by Latvian Ugis Krastins clinched the victory with scores of 25-16, 25-19 and 25-18.
Vasyl Tupchii led the winners' offense with 14 points, 11 in attack and three in blocking, seconded by Illia Kovalov, author of 12 units, captain Oleh Plotnytskyi (11) and Yurii Semeniuk (10).
For the Dutch, Thijs Ter Horst scored 11 points, Nimir Abdel-Aziz (10) and Fabian Plak (five).
France edged Japan 3-2 with scores of 25-17, 21-25, 26-24, 22-25 and 18-16 to advance to the round of eight.
