Doha, December 10 (RHC)-- The Disciplinary Committee of the Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) on Saturday opened proceedings against the Football Associations of Argentina (AFA) and the Netherlands for the incidents between players and members of the technical staff that broke out during the quarter-final match of the World Cup in Qatar played on Friday.

Both federations are exposed to possible violations of Article 12, which refers to "misconduct of players and coaching staff". The AFA will also be investigated for the potential violation of Article 16, "order and security at matches," according to a statement from world soccer's governing body, quoted by media reports.

During Friday's tense match, which the Albiceleste won on penalties, Spanish referee Mateu Lahoz issued 16 yellow cards, including the double yellow card that cost Dutch defender Denzel Dumfries his red card.
