Marlon Yant on the attack with La Lube

Havana, May 5 (RHC) - In a heartbreaker, Cuban Marlon Yant's reigning champion Lube Civitanova defeated Itas Trentino in five sets to even the Italian Volleyball Superliga final at one win apiece.

Yant scored 15 points, 4 of them in service, and shined in some passages of the match to the point that the fans chanted his name, but he lacked consistency.  In the end, her attacking and receiving efficiency was 38 and 42 percent, respectively.

Lube won the first two sets, but Trentino reacted and forced a tie break (17-15), in a 2.12 hours match watched by about 4,000 spectators at the Eurosuole Forum of Civitanova.

For the Lube, the most outstanding offensive players were French center Barthelemy Chinenyeze (18), Ivan Zaytsev (17 points) and Aleksandar Nikolov (17).

World champion Michieleto shined for Trentino with 19 units, seconded by Matey Kaziyski (11).

With the series tied at one win apiece, now the Italian Superliga actions will move to Trento, where both teams will face each other this Sunday in the third match of the best-of-five series.
