Managua, December 1 (PL) - The Colombian national team won the Under-23 baseball pre-World Cup crown after defeating the host Nicaraguan team 1-0 in the final.
Both teams went into the gold medal match undefeated, a pitching duel that was decided in the seventh by Guillermo Quintana's double and cracks in the Nicaraguan outfield.
For the bronze medal, Venezuela left Puerto Rico on the field 7x4 with a home run by Antoni Daniel Flores.
The occupants of the first four places in the continental championship qualified for the world cup of the category scheduled for 2024 in China.
