Havana, May 23 (JIT).- The Cubans Yaquelín Stornell (66 kg) and Jorge Cuéllar (71 kg) will fight this Friday during the opening date of the Olympic boxing qualifier taking place in Bangkok, capital of Thailand.

Stornell, a Central Caribbean bronze medalist and the only female from the Island there, will have as her opponent the Romanian Crinuta Nicoleta Sebe, the 2022 European youth title holder.

The information consulted on the event's website specifies that there are 37 registered in that category, with four places for the Parisian fair.

Cuéllar will clash with the Ugandan Kakande Muzamiru in a division that hosts 70 competitors and will win five tickets, which will require winning four fights to gain direct access.

On Sunday the world runner-up Erislandy Álvarez (63.5 kg) will debut as an opponent of Noah Talalot, from American Samoa, and on Tuesday the also owner of that rank Fernando Arzola (+92 kg) will make his debut against the Mexican Javier Cruz.

There are five and four, respectively, the passports to be validated in those weights, with 65 and 34 animators, in that order.

Cuba already has the places provided by Juio César La Cruz (92 kg), Arlen López (80 kg), Saidel Horta (57 kg) and Alejandro Claro (51 kg), who highlight the Playa Girón national tournament that is held in Guantánamo .
