Santiago de Chile, March 12 (RHC)-- The foreign ministers with the Union of South American Nations (UNASUR) are analyzing in Santiago de Chile the situation of violence that has taken place in Venezuela for a month now, during an extraordinary meeting called by the Bolivarian government headed by President Nicolas Maduro.
According to Telesur TV, the forum was called in Santiago because the foreign ministers with the bloc were gathered in Chile to attend the inauguration on Tuesday of President Michelle Bachelet.
Venezuelan Foreign minister Elias Jaua said that they exposed the reality of his country and the events that have taken place since February 12th, when vandalistic actions began to be unleashed by ultra-rightist groups financed by Washington and backed by an opposition that has rejected a national dialog underway in the country.
We will surely come up with a statement and are willing to jointly work with UNASUR for a deeper dialog among all Venezuelans to achieve political stability, said Jaua, who noted that the bloc of South American Nations is the appropriate platform to discuss the situation in Venezuela, better than the Organization of American States, the Inter-American Human Rights Commission or any other organization that operates under the influence of the United States.
