Lima, March 17 (RHC-ANDINA) -- Peruvian President Ollanta Humala travelled to the eastern part of Lima region on the weekend to inaugurate a maternal and child health center in the rural district of San Antonio in Huarochirí province.
The health center is will benefit more than 64,000 people in the area.
After touring the facility, the president raffirmed that health care is for everyone, but especially for the most vulnerable.
"Health cannot be an instrument of inequality," Humala said after cutting the ribbon for the new center, which will be open 24 hours a day, every day, and contains several treatment rooms.
Humala added that the central government and regional authorities are now acquiring ambulances to transfer patients between facilities in Lima region and even across the country.
