Miami, May 7 (RHC)-- In U.S. immigration news, a federal judge in Miami is allowing Immigration and Customs Enforcement, ICE, to transfer prisoners to other immigration jails across the United States, rather than releasing them to reduce overcrowding at three ICE jails in South Florida.
Immigrant rights advocates have continuously urged officials to suspend transfers, which have been linked to spreading COVID-19 from one ICE jail to another.
