Former Brazilian President Lula da Silva to begin tour of Europe

Brasilia, November 10 (RHC)-- Former Brazilian President Luiz Ignacio Lula da Silva has announced that he will begin a visit to Europe on Thursday, during which he plans to meet with political and progressive leaders of the region in countries such as Germany, Belgium, France and Spain.

According to information provided by the former president's press team, his tour will begin in Berlin, capital of Germany, where he will meet with the former leader of the Social Democratic Party (SPD), Martin Schulz.

According to the document of Lula's working group, the former president and leader of the Workers' Party (PT) will continue his trip with a stop in Belgium, where he will hold a meeting with the European Parliament and Social Democratic leaders.

Lula is also scheduled to attend a conference on Brazil at the Institute of Political Studies in Paris.  "The conference in the French capital takes place ten years after Lula was the first Latin American leader to receive the title of Doctor Honoris Causa from the institution," the press release highlighted.

On November 17, the former Brazilian president will be awarded the Political Courage 2021 prize by the magazine Politique Internationale and, also in France, he will meet with the French Socialist Party presidential candidate and mayor of Paris, Anne Hidalgo.

The European tour of the former president of Brazil will culminate in Spain, where he plans to participate in a conference and debate with various political leaders.
