Caracas, August 1 (RHC)-- Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro greeted on Monday the statement of the Venezuelan Chamber of Businessmen (Fedecámaras), on the imperial economic sanctions against the South American country.

"I welcome this statement by Fedecámaras and I say to the sensible sectors of the country, beyond party or ideological colors, that we unite all Venezuelan efforts to demand the lifting of sanctions against Venezuela", said Maduro during the transmission of his program Con Maduro +.

The recently appointed president of Fedecámaras, Adán Celis, rejected the unilateral coercive measures put in place by the U.S. government against his country, and described anyone who agrees with them as "crazy."

Celis called for the immediate lifting of the measures, and in this regard, the Venezuelan leader ratified that Venezuela has rights to an economic life free of sanctions.  "Venezuela has the right to an economic life free of sanctions.  To a social life free of sanctions, and to take our own paths, our own decisions in all political frameworks, in all social frameworks", he assured.

The Venezuelan president also affirmed that if there is a consensus in Venezuela, it is in relation to the "rejection and repudiation of the sanctions of the United States against Venezuela because they are sanctions against an entire country.  Never before has such a powerful and great consensus been achieved."

The Venezuelan President also expressed his intention to meet with Celis when he formally takes office, to discuss plans for the economic development of the country.  "Welcome to all the entrepreneurs of the country to work, growth and prosperity," he said.

The President also spoke with high school students present at the study about the electoral processes that have taken place in the country since the beginning of the Bolivarian Revolution.  "We have had 29 elections in Venezuela during the Revolution. World record. And we have won 27", he pointed out.

During the conversation, he assured that in his hands is the continuity of "the victorious and unbeatable path of the Bolivarian Revolution, memory of Comandante Chávez."
