Washington, September 26 (RHC)--Dozens of protests gathered in front of the White House on Thursday to condemn U.S. President Barack Obama’s bombing campaign against ISIL in Syria and Iraq. The protesters expressed their anger at Washington’s policy of arming and training insurgents in Syria to fight ISIL Takfiri terrorists on the ground.

Organizers of the protest said the current policy by the Obama administration is disastrous. The U.S. military began airstrikes against ISIL targets inside eastern Syria early Tuesday. Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Bahrain, Jordan and the United Arab Emirates “participated in or supported” the operation.

The airstrikes were carried out by manned Air Force and Navy aircraft. The Tomahawk missiles were also launched from American warships in the Persian Gulf and the Red Sea.

Meanwhile, activists in London staged a demonstration outside 10 Downing Street on Thursday evening to protest potential British airstrikes against targets in Syria and Iraq. The protest was held after UK Prime Minister David Cameron said his country is ready to play its part in airstrikes.
