United Nations, August 30 (RHC)-- The deputy permanent representative of China to the United Nations, Geng Shuang, spoke out this Thursday against the military operation that Israel is carrying out in the occupied West Bank and denounced that the Hebrew State seeks to make another hell like in the Gaza Strip.
After pointing out that the actions of the military occupation forces are in violation of international law, Geng asserted that Israel has made Gaza a “hell on Earth.”
Speaking at a session of the UN Security Council, based in the American city of New York, the Chinese representative said that “in the occupied West Bank, Israel continues to violate international law and the resolutions” of the highest executive body of the United Nations.
“The settlements (of the Zionist entity) continue to grow and the searches, arrests and raids against the Palestinians are intensifying,” denounced the diplomat.
Shuang strongly condemned the incursions of the Israeli army against the cities of Tulkarem, Jenin and Tubas, in the West Bank, which have left twenty Palestinians killed and several wounded, as well as dozens detained.
He said China is seriously concerned about the statements by Israeli authorities that they intend to apply the same approach to the occupied West Bank as they did to the operations in the Gaza Strip.
“Gaza has now become a hell on earth. We must never allow the same humanitarian catastrophe of Gaza to occur in the West Bank, which would turn the West Bank into another hell on earth,” the Chinese representative said.
