Caracas, September 9 (RHC)-- Venezuelan Foreign Minister Yvan Gil affirms that U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken seeks to promote a coup d'état in the South American country through social networks.

Venezuela's top diplomat, in response to the accusations of interference made by Blinken, confirmed that "his plans were dismantled by the vote and the civic-military-police unity and mobilization."   In addition, he asked him to accept the results of the presidential elections of July 28th issued by the National Electoral Council and ratified by the Supreme Court of Justice, which gave victory to the current president Nicolás Maduro.

Finally, he reiterated that at this moment "the Bolivarian people are making cosmic dust of the Monroe Doctrine.  It is our victory, Mr. Blinken!"

The head of Venezuelan diplomacy expressed his opinion in response to a publication by Blinken on the social network X in which the U.S. secretary of state encourages a coup d'état in Venezuela with the justification that the citizens "voted for a change."

In his message, Blinken claims -- without any evidence whatsoever -- that the Venezuelan government "has killed or imprisoned thousands of people."

Foreign Minister Yván Gil said that the U.S. official's statements are part of a new U.S. strategy and stressed to Blinken that his objectives have completely failed.
