Buenos Aires, September 25 (RHC)-- The media outlet ElDiarioAr reports that a group of psychiatrists and psychologists have requested a psychological evaluation of Argentinian President Javier Milei.
“Several psychologists and mental health professionals are very concerned about the president’s verbal violence. We believe that hate speech, insults, offenses, and defamation threaten the mental health of the public,” said Nora Merlin, the psychoanalyst and political scientist leading the group of petitioners.
“In this regard, we are requesting a multidisciplinary commission of scientists that can objectively evaluate the president’s personality traits and degree of violence. Verbal or physical violence threatens the population’s mental health.”
In 2023, Merlin and her colleagues had already issued a public warning about the actions of the far-right politician who now occupies the Argentinian presidency.
At that time, the mental health professionals agreed that Javier Milei “is not an emotionally balanced individual. I don’t know of any psychologist who would say otherwise,” she said.
The psychoanalyst indicated that the Argentine president exhibits traits that define him as “aggressive, impulsive, verbally violent, and his speech is very confusing.”
Milei also has difficulty managing his emotions, Merlin added, noting that he himself admitted that his hands sweat when he is in front of a public demonstration or in contact with people.
