Mexico City, October 20 (RHC-NNN) -- A Mexican gang boss has been arrested in connection with the case of the 43 students who have been missing since they clashed with police last month in the town of Iguala in Southern Mexico.
Mexican authorities have captured the suspected leader of the Guerreros Unidos gang, which was allegedly involved with corrupt police in the disappearance.
Police say the arrest could open new leads in search for the students. So far many unmarked graves have been found and several police officers arrested, but lack of substantial evidence has hampered investigations.
The students, from a rural teachers college, went missing on Sept. 26 following a clash with municipal police linked with drug gang members in the city of Iguala, which along with Acapulco is located in Mexico's violence-torn southern state of Guerrero.
