Mexico City, November 27 (RHC) -– A group of 30 high school students were kidnapped on July 7th by officers with the Police Department of Cocula, a municipality in the Mexican state of Guerrero. According to relatives of the missing teenagers, they were afraid to come forward until now, following death threats sent to them by the kidnappers.

In statements on national television, the mother of one of the abducted students denounced the kidnappings and told reporters how police-clad armed men took their children in plain daylight. So far, relatives have no news of the fate of the students.

The news comes amid the nationwide outrage for the abduction of 43 students of the Ayotzinapa Teacher Training College on September 26th.

The situation has sparked outrage and protests across Mexico, particularly following the unearthing of more than 15 mass graves, where dozens of bodies have been found. So far, authorities have not confirmed if they are related to the missing students of Ayotzinapa.
