Caracas, March 2 (teleSUR-RHC)-- More than 90 percent of Venezuelans are against a U.S. invasion of Venezuela, according to a poll released Sunday.

The survey, conducted between February 6 – 12, showed that 64 percent disagreed with sanctions imposed on Venezuelan officials by the U.S., while 62 percent thought that the U.S. government's perception of what is really happening in Venezuela was wrong.

Overall, 55 percent of Venezuelans said they had a “unfavorable” view of the U.S. government. Maduro recently announced that a coup plot had been foiled, with those involved having strong links to the U.S.

The results from 1,200 people, questioned by the pollster Hinterlaces, showed that 92 percent thought that the U.S. would attempt to invade if there was a social explosion in Venezuela.
