Havana, January 15 (RHC)-- Cuba will host May 28th to the 30th the 9th Ibero-American Gender and Communications Meeting, organizers of the international forum announced Tuesday.
Promoted by the Union of Journalists of Cuba (UPEC), the Federation of Cuban Women and the Cuban Association of Social Communicators, this forum traditionally gathers professionals in the communication, teaching and investigation sectors from more than twenty nations.
During the current edition of this event, born 22 years ago, scholars will tackle the issues of gender violence, sexuality, women’s rights and masculinity.
It will also receive reports related with topics such as gender violence, sexuality, the women's rights and studies of masculinity, said Isabel Moya, president of the Department of Gender and Communication of the Jose Marti International Institute of Journalism.
Analyses of diversity from an alternative position to that of mainstream media and samples of non-sexist communicative products will also be presented at the event, Moya added.
