Havana, December 7 (RHC)-- Wednesday's edition of the Cuban newspaper Granma published new messages of condolences, which have continued pouring in from around the world for the death of Cuban revolution leader Fidel Castro on November 25th.
One of the latest published messages was sent by the representative in Cuba of the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) Theodor Friedrich, who described Fidel as 'a world leader in the fight against injustice, hunger, poverty and for the preservation of the world's natural resources.'
Meanwhile, the executive director of the World Food Program Ertharin Cousin wrote in her message that Fidel was a champion in defense of social justice and people's rights to education, health and food security.
The communist parties of Germany, Kazakhstan and Ireland also sent messages of condolences, highlighting Cuba's decisive role in the independence struggle of several African nations and the Caribbean state's contribution to the social development of nations and peoples all over the world.
