Havana, July 10 (RHC)-- Cuban parlimentary delegates are discussing dozens of issues related to the country's socio-economic life, as a preliminary step to the Ninth Regular Session of the Eighth Legislature of the National Assembly of People's Power convened for Friday, July 14th.
Legislators will analyze top priority topics such as updating the Cuban economic and social model of socialist development. At the same time, lawmakers are receiving information on the latest sugar harvest, industrial maintenance in the face of technological obsolescence, and the work of scientific personnel in different areas.
More than half of the topics correspond to the discussion of the results of the checks and inspections carried out by the members of Parliament in the different provinces.
Other topics being discussed by lawmakers at the preliminary sessions, which began today and run until Wednesday, include services in rail transportation, investments to mitigate drought and the development of renewable sources.
The commissions prior to the plenary session will also discuss the current state of housing, the epidemiological situation and compliance with the program to recover the capacities of the food industry.
