Santiago de Cuba, June 30 (RHC)-- Isidro Campos, general manager of Damex Shipbuilding & Engineering Cuba, issued a call on entrepreneurs from around the world to invest in Cuba, based on the remarkable results achieved by the Dutch company over 25 years of operations on the Caribbean state.
Campos is among foreign entrepreneurs from 12 nations, who attended the 2nd Cuba-Caribbean Business Forum, which held sessions Thursday and Friday in eastern Santiago de Cuba province.
He explained that Damex Shipbuilding & Engineering Cuba is a self-sustaining organization who acts as a license holder and an after-sales service provider for the Netherlands-based Damen Shipyards Holland.
Established in January 1995 and located in the natural bay of Santiago de Cuba, Damex Shipbuilding & Engineering Cuba has, over the past 25 years, completed over 65 new-build vessels and many more repair projects for clients in Cuba and the wider Caribbean region.
Through the combined strengths of Dutch shipbuilding knowledge and Cuban craftsmanship, Damex has delivered a wide range of vessels from ferries to patrol boats and from tugs to bunker tankers for both Cuban and international customers. It provides also high level trained personnel, spare parts, and ship repair and maintenance services to clients in the Caribbean and Central America.
Cuban authorities value Damex as an important contributor to the country's maritime industry, one which has proven itself time and again as a trustworthy partner for clients in the region who demand locally built vessels according to European quality standards.
