Havana, July 2 (RHC)-- In addition to its sun and beach attraction for which it is internationally recognized, Cuba's Jardines del Rey tourist destination is emphasizing sporting events to promote values of Cuban culture.

The tourist spot also organizes two tournaments of its own: the chess and the fishing tournament at the Marina Marlin of Guillermo Key, scheduled in October, during the high tourism season.
The tourism official added that Jardines del Rey recently hosted a meeting of the International Federation of Basque Pelota, the worldwide governing body for Basque pelota, recognized by the International Olympic Committee.
