Havana, February 1 (RHC)-- During a brief meeting in Havana with his Cuban counterpart, Miguel Díaz-Canel, Bolivian President Evo Morales analyzed the international situation and expressed his solidarity with victims of the tragic storm that occurred recently in Havana.
"We had a pleasant meeting with the brother president of Cuba, Miguel Diaz Canel, in Havana, where we made a stopover on our trip to New York," the president wrote on his Twitter account. The Bolivian leader confirmed solidarity with the Cuban Government and people for the material and human damages after the tornado hit several communities in Havana on Sunday.
Evo Morales was received by the Cuban president at the José Martí International Airport, in Havana, during a refueling stop. At the United Nations, Evo Morales will participate in the launching of the International Year of Indigenous Languages.
The President of Bolivia will be the main guest at the ceremony held at the headquarters of the United Nations with the aim of drawing attention to the loss of indigenous languages and the need to preserve, revitalize and promote them.
The General Assembly of the UN proclaimed 2019 as the International Year of Indigenous Languages, promoted by Bolivia and the Permanent Forum of Indigenous Peoples, to preserve these languages at national and international levels.
