Havana, March 22 (RHC)-- Between six and eight joint ventures will be launched in Cuba during this year to produce chicken and pork products, acourding to an announcement made during the 22nd Fiagrop International Agribusiness Food Fair 2019 underway in the Cuban capital.
The director of meat production enterprise Ganadería SA, Maria Dolores Rivero, said that Cuba is close to finalizing the negotiations with Danish partners for the construction of two pork production facilities in the provinces Villa Clara and Cienfuegos.
According to Rivero, to date Spain, Denmark and Germany have shown the greatest interest in investing in meat production in Cuba.
Rivero also noted that, as early as 2020, 80% of sector projects featured in the island's portfolio of investment opportunities, could be covered.
Fiagrop 2019, this year dedicated to the development of cattle farming, includes 189 exhibitors, 450 leading breeders and delegates from more than 20 countries.
