Havana, April 3 (RHC) – The president of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, arrived in Cuba on Wednesday to begin an official visit to the island.
The African leader's visit is taking place in the context of the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Cuba and Ghana.
During his stay Akufo-Addo will undertake an intense program of activities, which includes meetings with authorities of the island.
The distinguished visitor will be received by Cuban President, Miguel Díaz-Canel, and the president of the National Assembly of People's Power, Esteban Lazo.
He will also pay tribute to Cuban and African heroes in special ceremonies held around Havana.
As part of his visit through April 5th, the President of Ghana will offer a keynote speech in the main hall of the University of Havana, and tour the city's Historic Center, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1982.
