Hanoi, September 13 (RHC)-- Vietnam and Cuba vowed on Thursday to expand their trade cooperation for 2019-2020 period at the closing of the 37th Session of the Bilateral Intergovernmental Commission.
In a document signed at the end of the 4-day meeting, the two countries agreed to boost bilateral trade and promote Vietnamese investment in the Caribbean nation.
In the document signed by the Cuban Minister of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment, Rodrigo Malmierca, and the Vietnamese Minister of Construction, Pham Hong Ha, both countries agreed to pay special attention to the implementation of the trade agreement signed in 2018 and to update the bilateral economic agenda for the period 2020-2025.
They also agreed to revitalize current investment projects with Vietnamese capital and to continue promoting cooperation in the agribusiness sector and scientific-technical collaboration.
The Cuban side expressed its determination to promote exports of goods and services, particularly those related to the field of medicine.
During their stay in Vitnam the Cuban delegation met with Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc and had working sessions with key officials of the Vietnamese ministries of health, industry and trade, and planning and investment, and Quang Tri province, and executives of some businesses.
