Havana, February 4 (RHC) --Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel and Prime Minister Manuel Marreromet on Thursday with the top authorities of the special municipality of the Isle of Youth and Cienfuegos province.
The meetings analyzed the epidemiological situation of those territories, which last Tuesday fell back to the Limited Autochthonous Transmission Phase due to an increase in the number of positive cases of Covid-19.
They also evaluated the progress of implementing the Ordering Task and the monetary reform as part of the island's socio-economic development strategy.
During the exchange in the Isle of Youth, the President indicated speeding up the construction of the molecular biology laboratory in the territory as part of the strategy to strengthen the health system and confront the pandemic.
In Cienfuegos, the head of State called for greater municipal autonomy, especially in food production.
The meetings reviewed the measures adopted in the face of the resurgence of Covid-19, the dissatisfactions of the citizenry concerning the economic process initiated last January 1, and the actions to guarantee the demand for food.
The Cienfuegos meeting ended the cycle initiated on January 18 by the country's top management to directly assess the epidemiological situation in all the country's territories.
