Havana, February 26 (RHC)-- There is no room for tiredness or accommodation. We have to keep working. Together, we will get out of all the "messes" that mark the country's current scenario, said Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez.

Speaking during the most recent videoconference held from the Palace of the Revolution with the governors of the 15 provinces and the Intendant of the special municipality Isla de la Juventud, the president urged optimism.

"We are going to keep on fighting, we are going to keep on working, we are going to keep on winning," he said in the meeting that was led by Prime Minister Manuel Marrero Cruz. He was also presided over by José Ramón Machado Ventura, Second Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba, and the Vice-president, Salvador Valdés Mesa.

Once these complex moments have been overcome, Diaz-Canel assured, the island will consolidate progress and continue promoting the improvement of its society,  based on the strategic programs contained in the programmatic documents approved in the congresses of the Communist Party of Cuba.

All this -the Head of State stressed-  requires working with intelligence, with thought, strengthening all the resources, building interconnections among all the factors and actors we have in each area; also enthusiastically, explaining, arguing, reasoning, criticizing when necessary, and fostering an atmosphere of creation and commitment, never of defeat.

After acknowledging a set of deficiencies that persist in some key sectors, Díaz-Canel assured that the deficiencies Cuba is currently facing are not only caused by the country's shortcomings but are fundamentally an expression of the intensification of the economic blockade, the financial persecution, and the more than 200 measures implemented by the U.S. Government in the last four years.

As part of the Government's work at a time like this -he insisted- it is essential to be in contact with the population so that decisions can be made in time; to offer explanations, to argue. This also depends on making the government's management more effective, he emphasized.
