Havana, February 11 (RHC)-- The Cuba Socialista magazine has called for the First International Meeting of theoretical publications of left-wing political parties and movements.
The meeting, to be held on October 7 and 8 in the Cuban capital, will allow to reflect on the problems and challenges of the progressive forces of the world in the face of the reactionary offensive and the attempts of cultural neo-colonization of the centers of world power, said Enrique Ubieta, director of the magazine.
In four plenary sessions, the participants will discuss issues related to imperialism; society and youth; unity and solidarity of the leftist groups, and the thought of the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro.
The meeting will be dedicated to Fidel Castro and the Cuban Argentine revolutionary Ernesto Che Guevara, added the director of the theoretical and political magazine of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba.
In the context of this invitation, held at Casa de las Americas, the president of that cultural institution, Abel Prieto, presented the dossier of the Socialist Cuba magazine number 13-18/2020-2021.
The edition gathers analyses of prestigious academics, essayists and national scientists on the current reality of the island.
According to Prieto, this issue has the virtue of exposing from different angles the cultural war being waged against Cuba, and of distancing itself from dogmatisms and schemes to brilliantly explain the methods applied against the Revolution since its triumph in 1959.
Among other motivations for its reading, the Cuban intellectual highlighted the reflections it contains on the kidnapping by the right wing of terms historically associated with the struggles of the left, as well as its history, with the purpose of reproducing the model of imperialist domination.
