Havana, August 26 (RHC)-- Cuban and U.S. specialists exchanged insights on cleanup and environmental rehabilitation works in connection with the massive fire at an oil depot in Matanzas industrial zone, the Cuban Foreign Ministry (MINREX) reported on Friday.
According to MINREX, the virtual talks involved Cuban experts working on the accident area at the Matanzas Supertanker Base and U.S. specialists from the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).
Both sides discussed possible avenues of cooperation for restoring the most affected areas.
The Cuban delegation, made up of specialists from the Ministry of Science, Technology, and Environment (CITMA), informed their American counterparts of the actions taken for their assessment.
They also discussed the feasibility of accessing the latest techniques and procedures from EPA, oil companies, and other agencies deeply involved in these kinds of disasters.
