Havana, August 31 (RHC)-- Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel, met Wednesday with business executives and personalities from Italy, interested in investments, a priority in the island's development strategy.
According to President’s Office, Prime Minister Manuel Marrero and the Minister of Economy and Planning Alejandro Gil also participated in the event, in which the visitors presented proposals and concerns regarding the matter.
They also expressed to the country's highest leadership the importance of the friendship between both nations and the willingness to collaborate with Cuba’s efforts to resolve the complex economic situation it is going through.
Marrero ratified that the Cuban economic and social strategy update includes foreign participation. “We are open to all proposals,” assured the head of government.
Diaz-Canel, for his part, thanked the Italians for the contact and highlighted their commitment and understanding amid the difficult circumstances the island is going through.
