Havana, October 28 (RHC)-- The First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba (CC-PCC) and President of the Republic, Miguel Díaz-Canel, and the member of the Political Bureau of the CC-PCC and Secretary of Organization, Roberto Morales Ojeda, attended this Friday the commemoration for the 63rd anniversary of the physical disappearance of the Commander of the Rebel Army, Camilo Cienfuegos Gorriarán.
Also present at the tribute were Rogelio Polanco Fuentes, member of the CC-PCC Secretariat and head of the Ideological Department; Luis Antonio Torres Iríbar and Reinaldo García Zapata, first secretary of the Party and governor of Havana, respectively.
Aylín Álvarez García, first secretary of the National Committee of the Union of Young Communists, and Ulises Guilarte de Nacimiento, secretary general of the Central de Trabajadores de Cuba, joined the tribute to the Lord of the Vanguard.
The commemoration began in front of the image of the Hero of Yaguajay, at the headquarters of the Ministry of Communications, on the grounds of the 'José Martí' Revolution Square in Havana.
Young people from the 'Camilo Cienfuegos' Military Schools and the people of Havana came to the Malecon to remember Cienfuegos Gorriarán with floral offerings.
Díaz-Canel highlighted this morning, through his Twitter profile, that Camilo was an exemplary soldier and Commander, a synthesis of loyalty, courage and Cuban citizenship.
