Havana, Nov 8 (PL) Researchers, and experts will meet Tuesday in Cuba to socialize experiences that contribute to the recovery of the country's economy and environmental policy through the mobilization of different actors, resources, and knowledge.

On November 8 and 9, two workshops will be held at the Meliá Habana Hotel as part of the United Nations Development Program's (UNDP) support of the Cuban economy and adaptation to climate change.

The technical workshop for the design of strategies and opportunities to support micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) aims to exchange Latin American experiences in pursuit of inclusive and sustainable economic growth.

To this end, it seeks to define the strategy for the design and transfer of methodologies to strengthen MSMEs in Cuba with an emphasis on the generation of added value through the innovative management of goods and services with associated knowledge.

It will also address the work in competitive productive chains, and productive transformation with a focus on environmental sustainability and inclusion.

The Workshop on environmental finances to address climate change and the conservation and sustainable use of biodiversity seeks to create an enabling framework for management in this area.

A space that allows the creation of innovative financing mechanisms in favor of biodiversity and the fight against climate change in Cuba.

Another objective of this meeting is to strengthen the technical capacities of key institutions and actors through an inter-institutional platform to support the implementation of environmental policy.

Both events include the participation of the Ministries of Finance and Prices, Economy and Planning, Science, Technology and Environment, as well as the Central Bank of Cuba, and the National Statistics and Information Office, among others.
