Cuban Prime Minister meets with trade fair attendees

Havana, Nov 17 (RHC) Cuban Prime Minister Manuel Marrero held exchanges with leaders of delegations attending the 38th Havana International Fair, local press reported today.

The head of the government of the Caribbean nation met with the deputy minister of Industry and Trade of the Lao People's Democratic Republic, Manothong Vongsay, a country that is attending this kind of event for the first time.

According to a note from the website of the Presidency of the Republic of Cuba, the Asian official conveyed the decision to deepen issues of common interest, as a sign of the bonds of brotherhood that unite both peoples.

The newspaper adds that Marrero held a meeting with the Minister of Strategic Planning of Honduras, Ricardo Salgado, who stressed that his government is interested in strengthening ties with Cuba, promoting solidarity and regional unity.

The Cuban Prime Minister also spoke with the director of the Department of Industrial Policy of the Eurasian Economic Commission, Nikolai Kushnarev, on the occasion of which they recalled the many virtual meetings recently shared, as well as the history of bilateral cooperation.

The meeting between Marrero and the director of the Italian company Farma Venda, Vittoria Comini, revealed the willingness to strengthen cooperation ties, based on a greater insertion of food brands in Cuba.

In this sense, the head of the Cuban Government and the general manager of the Colon Free Zone in Panama, Giovanni Ferrari, also held a meeting.  Ferrari ratified that Cuba is very important for his country.

After two years with no face-to-face activities due to Covid-19, the Havana International Fair began its XXXVIII edition on Monday with the participation of representatives from 62 countries and some 400 national and foreign companies.
