Havana, Dec 12 (RHC) Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez on Monday hailed the agreements reached by the delegations of the Colombian government and the National Liberation Army (ELN), in the first round of peace talks.
Through his official account on the social network Twitter, the foreign minister said that Cuba, in its role of guarantor, "ratifies the invariable commitment to peace in the sister nation of Colombia".
On this day, the delegations of the Colombian Government and the National Liberation Army concluded the first round of talks with four agreements to advance toward peace.
These referred to the definition of the Dialogue Agenda, the institutionalization of the Committee, Actions and Humanitarian Dynamics, Pedagogy, and Communications.
In a joint declaration, the participants reiterated their commitment to respect the role of the guarantor countries, avoiding the recurrence of a situation contrary to international law, as happened during the previous government who ignored the protocols they agreed on and the guarantor countries, especially Cuba, were attacked (Source: Prensa Latina).
