Cuba and Bosnia and Herzegovina celebrate 26th anniversary of relations
Havana, Apr 29 (RHC) - Cuba and Bosnia and Herzegovina today celebrate the 26th anniversary of the establishment of their diplomatic relations.
Regarding the date, the island's Foreign Ministry confirmed the will to increase ties between the two countries, which recently had a culminating point with the visit of Bosnian president Željka Cvijanović, who is making an official visit to the Caribbean nation.
Cuban president Miguel Díaz-Canel stated that her visit is of enormous significance for the island and referred to the historical ties existing decades ago with Yugoslavia, which served as the basis for the 26-year ties with Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Díaz-Canel stressed that this dialogue will mark a milestone, and reaffirmed the will and commitment to expand political, economic, trade and cooperation relations.
The Cuban president also thanked for all the support of the Bosnian Government in different international scenarios, in the fight against the economic blockade of the United States. For her part, the head of state of Bosnia and Herzegovina assured that they came to the island as friends. (Source: Prensa Latina)
